Leadership
Leadership skills are extremely important for most women in higher education, the workplace, and the home. GSS works hard to develop these skills.
At GSS girls’ voices are heard. At most events students are speakers, and we try to limit the use of adult speakers and presenters when possible.
Our counselor is developing a leadership program that will include opportunities for every girl to be involved in decision making, public speaking, helping younger students, helping staff, etc. The goal of our leadership program is for girls to find and use their own voices in an appropriate manner. For some girls this may include assertiveness training. For others it might include learning when it is acceptable to sit back and listen quietly.
The goal of GSS is to graduate confident and empowered young women who are ready for high school.
